The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, August 8 reveals Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will prove his loyalty to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Also coming up, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will offer Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) a deal. Plus, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will tell Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) she needs to pick a side. And Cane wants Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to use her computer skills.
Y&R spoilers tease Adam will tell Chelsea that Victor wants payback for what happened in Nice. “Why would I object, if he wants to use Newman Media to get back at Cane?” But then she’ll realize someone else could get caught in the crossfire.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Adam Asks Why Chelsea Always Defends Billy
“It’s Billy, he may be aligning with Cane against our family,” Adam will say. But Chelsea will say Billy talks a good game. “Somebody might have to call his bluff,” Adam will reply. “If Billy is part of an attack against our family and Victor has no choice but to fight back.”
However, Chelsea needs proof that Billy’s working with Cane to go after them. “If Victor can prove to me that this is true, but if this is just a rumor then no, I’m going to defend my friend.” Adam will say he has to trust his father’s instincts, which calls for a preemptive strike.
So, Chelsea will say maybe she can get the information out of Billy. “I can convince him I am the voice of reason,” she’ll add. Adam will ask why she always comes to Billy’s defense. “Maybe it’s time for you to let go of your devotion to Billy and side with your family.”
Meanwhile, Victor will call Cane, who will say it’s late, he didn’t feel like going out again. “It’s past your bedtime?” Victor will quip. “Come and see me at the ranch tonight.” But what Victor won’t know is that Phyllis is still in Cane’s room.
He’ll grill her and she’ll ask why he’s doing this. “I’ve already passed your test.” Cane will say she did, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to challenge her, every step of the way. He wants her to use her computer skills. “Do you think you can hack into the Jabot servers, Newman Enterprises, Chancellor, Winters?” he’ll ask. She’ll ask why. “We’re going to do a little shopping,” he’ll reply.
Then Cane will say he has a meeting with Victor at the ranch. Once he arrives, Victor will say he knows he bought a lot of real estate in town. “I imagine you must be pretty furious about Nikki wanting to sell me Chancellor for Nick’s freedom,” he’ll reply.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Victor Suggests They Crush The Abbotts
Victor won’t react. Instead, he’ll say it was a bad move. Cane will tell him it was worth a shot. Then Victor will suggest Cane change his focus from Chancellor to Jabot. “Together, we could crush the Abbotts, do we have a deal?” And Cane will smile.
At Society, Billy will join Jack at the bar. He’ll say he reached out to Cane about Abbott Communications but he hasn’t gotten back to him. So, he’ll ask his brother if he’s met with Cane since they last spoke. Billy will tell him he has, and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) knew Cane was Dumas.
He’ll whine that Jill felt he should have been the one to tell him about Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) death. Next, he’ll moan about Jill selling Chancellor to Victor and keeping Cane’s secret.
“Clearly she’s done with me, now she’s got Cane,” Billy will add. “The son she always wishes she had.” But he’s going to prove his mother wrong when he gets Chancellor back, with or without Cane. Jack will say it sounds like he knows what Cane’s plan is.
“I do,” Billy will reply. “Things in Genoa City are about to get very ugly.” Billy will tell Jack that Cane wants Jabot, he wants Chancellor and he wants Newman. “He wants to wrap everything up under one big umbrella.” Jack will say they have to do something. “He’s committed and he’s confident, he’s got a soldier cheering him on, it’s Phyllis.”
Jack will ask if Billy agreed to go along with it. “If Cane asked me to go against you, or anyone else in our family, the answer will always be no,” he’ll reply. So, Jack will advise him to tell Cane he’s in. “What do you say we work together to bring Cane Ashby down, from the inside?”
Finally, Phyllis will show up and Jack will leave. Phyllis will tell Billy that Cane told her to come there and personally tell him his offer is off the table. “Why would I believe anything that comes out of your mouth?” he’ll ask. “If Cane’s gonna cut me off, he’s gonna look me in the eyes and tell me himself.”
